Phenomenological Implications of Low Energy Supersymmetry Breaking
نویسندگان
چکیده
The experimental signatures for low energy supersymmetry breaking are presented. The lightest standard model superpartner is unstable and decays to its partner plus a Goldstino, G. For a supersymmetry breaking scale below a few 1000 TeV this decay can take place within a detector, leading to very distinctive signatures. If a neutralino is the lightest standard model superpartner it decays by χ1 → γ +G, and if kinematically accessible by χ1 → (Z , h, H, A) + G. These decays can give rise to displaced vertices. Alternately, if a slepton is the lightest standard model superpartner it decays by l̃→ l+G. This can be seen as a greater than minimum ionizing charged particle track, possibly with a kink to a minimum ionizing track.

Electroweak Symmetry Breaking due to Confinement
Within the framework of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking, we consider an electroweak symmetry breaking pattern in which there is no conventional µ term. The pattern is made appealing through realizing it as a low energy effective description of a supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory which is of confinement. Phenomenological implications are discussed.
متن کاملThe Soft Supersymmetry-Breaking Lagrangian: Theory and Applications
After an introduction recalling the theoretical motivation for low energy (100 GeV to TeV scale) supersymmetry, this review describes the theory and experimental implications of the soft supersymmetry-breaking Lagrangian of the general minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). Extensions to include neutrino masses and nonminimal theories are also discussed. Topics covered include models of ...
متن کاملLow-energy effective Lagrangian in unified theories with nonuniversal supersymmetry-breaking terms.
Supersymmetric grand unified theories with non-universal soft supersymmetry breaking terms are studied. By integrating out the superheavy fields at an unification scale, we compute their low-energy effective Lagrangian. We find new contributions to the scalar potential specific to the non-universal supersymmetry breaking. D-term contribution to the scalar masses is one example. The gauge hierar...
متن کاملPhoton signatures for low energy supersymmetry breaking and broken R-parity
The possible phenomenological consequences of R-parity violating interactions in the framework of low energy supersymmetry breaking are studied. It is pointed out that even very weak R-parity violation would completely overshadow one of the basic signatures of low energy supersymmetry breaking models, that is the decay of the next to lightest supersymmetric particle into a photon (lepton) and m...
متن کاملSupernatural Supersymmetry: Phenomenological Implications of Anomaly-Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking
We discuss the phenomenology of supersymmetric models in which supersymmetry breaking terms are induced by the super-Weyl anomaly. Such a scenario is envisioned to arise when supersymmetry breaking takes place in another world, i.e., on another brane. We review the anomaly-mediated framework and study in detail the minimal anomaly-mediated model parametrized by only 3 + 1 parameters: Maux, m0, ...
